Why domain age matters

Most scam websites live for a few weeks. They are registered, promoted through Facebook ads, TikTok or WhatsApp, collect payments, and disappear before reports pile up. A shop or investment site that was created this month deserves extra care, especially if it claims years of experience.

How to read the result

  • Less than 30 days. High risk for any site asking for payment or personal details.
  • One to six months. Be careful. Look for an SSM registration number and a real address, and search for reviews outside the site itself.
  • Over a year. A good sign, but not proof. Old domains can be bought or hacked.

Other checks before you pay

Compare the domain with the official one you know, check the bank account or phone number on Semak Mule, and never pay to a personal account for a "company" purchase. You can also paste the link into our Scam Link Checker.

Why some .my domains show no date

Some registries, including MYNIC for .my, limit what their public WHOIS shows. If the creation date is hidden, rely on the other checks above.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know when a website was created?

Enter the domain above. The result shows the registration date from the public WHOIS record and how long ago that was.

Is a new website always a scam?

No. Every real business starts with a new domain. But a new site combined with very low prices, pressure to pay fast or payment to a personal account is a strong warning sign.

Why is the owner's name not shown?

Most registries hide personal details for privacy. The registrar, dates and name servers are usually still public.

Can I check a .com.my or .my domain?

Yes, but MYNIC limits the public data, so some fields may be empty.
